READ THIS FIRST!
Hey thank you for reading this first. My name is Pastor Ben and I'm the "Next Gen" Pastor here at Lakeside. That means I run the Kids Ministry and the Junior High Ministry. So here at Lakeside we are SO excited for what God is going to do in the lives of our middle schoolers here. With that being said, we are currently in a building program to create MORE space for MORE age groups to get MORE of God. During the current phase of our building program, our "REACH" Junior High services will be put on hold for just a little while. Until our junior high services continue, if you have a preteen or you ARE a preteen, then come check out our AWESOME wednesday night youth group, and come on out to one of our monthly events! You're totally invited. (Yes you!)
Who are we?
We are the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade student ministry led by Pastor Ben May here at Lakeside. The group meets in the Edify room every Sunday right after praise and worship, where we have a preaching service geared specifically for middle schoolers. The transition from the kids church to the youth group can be a very challenging time, so we incorporate food, fellowship, and fun to help the students develop faith and friendships that will last a lifetime. Engaging messages, encouraging small groups, and powerful prayer times paint the picture of what a Sunday morning is like for Reach Middle School.
What have we done?
We have done SO MUCH! From BB gun camps to Cider Mill trips to just hanging out at someone's house for a devotional night, Reach is ALWAYS doing something cool!
Where are we going?
The name “Reach” stands for this:
God loved us so much that He Reached down to us, so that we could Reach Him. While we Reach up to draw closer to God, we must learn to reach out to spread God’s love to each other… This year I want our group to Reach out. We are planning several new ministry opportunities for the students to serve in, and many new events for them to invite their friends too.
Thank you volunteers!
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our middle school team this past year! Whether you helped each week at the services, once a month at an event, or once in a while you drove a van, I couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you for being such a blessing.
The past few years have been wonderful. I am so excited to see what God’s going to do in the hearts and lives of these middle schoolers this next year!
